The name Radhika Suresh Gopi is not unfamiliar to the Malayalees but it is not known beyond being our own Suresh Gopi’s wife.Born in a house full of art and music, the artist, who rose to prominence in film playback singing, married Suresh Gopi, who is 13 years older than her, at the age of eighteen.
Radhika is a beautiful mother of five children and yet she is wounded with love.Radhika was born in 1972 as the granddaughter of Malayalam’s own grandmother Aranmula Ponnamma.Radhika grew up with a family full of acting and music, as well as music with the virtues of the countryside.It should be noted that when Radhika was only 13 years old, the unique Malayalam music director Shri MG Radhakrishnan introduced her to playback singing.
Radhika sang the song ‘Ange Kunnu Inge Kunnu Aana Varambathu’ with MG Sreekumar in the 1985 film ‘Parayanum Vayya Parayathirikkanum Vayya’.Radhika made her debut as a playback singer and continued her studies in music.Radhika Nair’s song ‘Rathrithan’ sung with MG Sreekumar in the 1989 film Agni Pravesham was well received and Radhika Nair was hailed as a presence in the playback singing scene.
